Pointy petal Chrysanthemum-macro photo

These big pompom-like Chrysanthemums with their narrow, pointy petals remember me of a sweet story I've read one of these days.
White Chrysanthemum-macro photo
Here is the story:
On a beautiful moonlit night a young girl wandered in a garden. She gathered a blossom and began to pull off its petals one by one to see whether or not her lover cared. Suddenly, a little elf appeared before her, assuring her that she was very much adored. He said, "Your beloved will become your husband and he will live as many years as the flower, which you choose, has petals." When the elf had disappeared, the maiden began to search for a flower with the greatest number of petals. At length she picked a Persian carnation, and with a golden hairpin she separated each petal into two or three parts. Soon her deft fingers had increased the number of folioles of the corolla to three times the original number, and she wept with joy to think of the happiness she had brought her future husband. Thus it was that the kiku, or chrysanthemum, came into being many centuries ago in a garden where the moon shone over the flowers and glistened on the streams and little bamboo bridges.

Raindrops on fall fowers-reflections

I love to take macro photographs of raindrops, though this photo is from my archive.
We had our first snow last night, so there will be no new sunny flowers till spring. Not just because there are no more flowers this year, but these macro photos don't look the same in winter lighting.

Make a wish - blow the dandelion!

For some adults, the dandelion is just a weed, but not for children. They are the flowers of childhood and play.
Dandelion seeds on a big puffball awaken in me pleasant childhood memories.
Do you recall your granny telling you that you can make a wish and if you can blow all of the seeds off the tuft in one breath, your wish will come true.
So, make your wish but don't tell! Now blow on the dandelion!

Little girls and boys come out to play, yes
Bring your dandelions to blow away
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries

What was once a flower, became a delicate dandelion clock, to all children's joy.

Macro Flower Saturday 35-Anthurium lily

Welcome to a new round of Macro Flower Saturday!
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

This year, we have a beautiful, long autumn (so far), with bright sunny days and no rain.
At this time of the year, almost all our flowers are gone, except a few stubborn wildflower, which don't mind the light frost during nights.

A part of the world never sees winter and continues blooming all year round, so I hope we will see many interesting flowers from these countries, while ours rest.

However, winter will not stop us from taking flower photos; I'm sure, you have many, gorgeous potted flowers.
My photo reserves for winter are mainly house plants and cut flowers.

For starters, I share this bright red Anthurium lily, also called the Flamingo flower.
It is a common flower, for most of you, thought is has a very interesting structure.
The waxy, heart shaped petals of the Anthurium make the impression of an artificial flower.

Red AnthuriumThey come in many colors, from pure white, all shades of pink and reds, orange and even green.
I share with you just the red one today but I'll post Anthuriums of other colors too, in future post.

Thistle flowers in autumn

Some of these lovely thistle flowers are just too stubborn to let go.
We have a beautiful, long autumn and despite the light frost during the night, some wildflowers are determined to enjoy the bright autumn sunshine, a little bit longer.
