Last night we finally had our first snow but most of it is already melted.
This picture is from last year when the early snowfall covered our still blooming roses.

Poinsettia flower-Macro Flowers Saturday 85

I know you are in a hurry but stop for a moment.
Take a brake and have a coffee and some cookies with me!

Now we can talk about flowers. Remember, you can post anything you want to Macro Flowers Saturday in the holiday season.

I have poinsettias not just on the napkin, I have a real one too.
This is my new poinsettia flower, it's my first, ever. I have to learn jet how to care for it, though I don't think it is possible to induce to reflower the poinsettia after the initial display when purchased.

Its a very interesting plant with all these leaves turning flaming red, though it feels a bit (a lot) like plastic.

The flowers are in fact just the small yellow structures found in the center of each leaf bunch.

Welcome to our weekend flower share!

Winter holidays are almost here. I hope you all are having a nice shopping for your loved ones.

I want to move this blog to custom domain soon. With such kind of changes it often happens that returning visitors can't access the new url. The reason for this is your own computers' DNS cache (not the web cache), meaning that each OS remembers details of the visited sites locations and when the pages' url changes the system loads the old url. Than you have the "Server not found notification".
The fix is very simple, the so called DNS flush. I will post a tutorial on my main domain colormagicphotography.com at the right time.
Just remember this in case it happens to you.

And now, back to the flowers!
These orchids at the flower center are my contribution to today's share:

Have a great weekend!

Frost crystals on plants-Macro Flowers Saturday 83

Hi everyone and welcome!

The days are so short that I always end up taking photos in the dark. But this is one of the reasons the flash was invented, isn't it?
I took these photos this evening; the sun was already down but there was a beautiful red reflection of the sky in the partially frozen river.

I love to take shots of frost crystals on plants near the river, here are a few of them:
